Fastidious Bacteria Enrichment Broth

BHI (Brain Heart Infusion) Broth™ is manufactured by Copan and supplied as 3ml of nutrient-rich enrichment broth in a tube. It is specifically designed to support the recovery and growth of fastidious bacteria from clinical specimens, including organisms such as Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus.

Following incubation, samples enriched in BHI Broth™ can be sub-cultured onto appropriate agar media for further identification and testing. BHI Broth™ is also compatible with the Copan WASP® automated specimen processing module for both broth inoculation and subsequent sub-culture, supporting automated laboratory workflows.

Suitable for clinical specimens collected using Copan eSwab®, FLOQSwab®, or liquid specimens.
