DWS Service Engineer with Customer

At Don Whitley Scientific (DWS), we are committed to providing a service that reflects our core values and beliefs. We believe that one of the benefits of being a small business is that we can respond quickly to customers and offer the support they need, with the flexibility to meet unique requirements. We also believe that quality is more important than quantity – just because we’re smaller in size, it doesn’t mean that we don’t have the expertise or capabilities for innovation. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.

DWS develop, manufacture, and distribute everything in-house! And we have a team of skilled service engineers that carry out installations and provide maintenance to customers. This means we have a broad range of expertise across the team, which is ideal for being able to attend to our customers needs quickly and efficiently.

Our service administrator team are always happy to answer any queries and are able to connect customers to one of our service engineers almost instantly. Typically, an engineer will carry out repairs on site or, if this is not possible, we can install loan units to minimise customer downtime whilst repairs are carried out at our premises. And with some of our newer equipment, it is possible for our engineers to connect remotely to identify any potential issues and make adjustments.

Our testimonials speak for themselves…

“We have been using DWS to service our workstations for many years and are very satisfied with the service provision. We had a non-conformance brought up in one of our UKAS inspections that we were unsure how to address. With the help of the technical staff at DWS we were able to quickly troubleshoot this and found a solution that we could easily implement. We find them a reliable company who are always willing to help. They are a family company, and we’ve had the same service engineer visit us for years. It’s nice to be able to get to know someone, someone that you can trust to get the job done.” – Joanne Reid, BMS Team Leader and Quality Manager at Jersey General Hospital

“We have used DWS for our UKAS Calibration since 2016. They calibrate our A35 Anaerobic Workstation as well as our fridges, freezers, incubators and our cold room. We tie in the other products when we have the workstation calibrated so they can all be done in one visit, which makes it much more cost-effective, although DWS are competitively priced. We get our certificates through quickly and are happy with the time frame. I’m always pleased that the engineers take the time to discuss the findings with us before they leave so the results don’t come as a surprise. They explain everything well and give us the good news and the bad, so we know we are up-to-date and well informed. We don’t find the calibration day to be particularly invasive as we generally do a plan at the beginning so can arrange any equipment transfers in advance. When the DWS engineers arrive on site, they help us keep the staff informed about where they will be working. They work with us to make it as smooth a process as possible.” – Adele Foster, Lead Biomedical Scientist, Dumfries and Galloway NHS Trust
