When Joy Oloya from a specialist veterinary referral centre with 24 hour on-site staffing and associated clinical pathology, needed to enhance her laboratory’s ability to isolate non-aerobic bacteria, we knew the Whitley Jar Gassing System would be an ideal solution.
“It’s quite a small laboratory and available space was of concern so I was pleasantly surprised that such a compact device has made such a difference to us. We grow both anaerobic and microaerobic bacteria and the Whitley Jar Gassing System has become a real asset. It has really improved our recovery of strict anaerobic organisms such as Clostridium tetani. We have been thoroughly satisfied with our recent results.”
I was initially provided with a loan unit to trial and found the system very easy to use. I have been very pleased with the support from Don Whitley Scientific, in particular from their on-site laboratory, who were able to give me advice on the type of applications I could use the unit for.
The Whitley Jar Gassing System can create anaerobic conditions in less than two minutes and microaerophilic conditions in just 15 seconds. It doesn’t use nearly as much gas as I had anticipated so has proved a cost-effective way of producing good quality, consistent results.”
