Society for Applied Microbiology Announce ECS Travel Grant in Honour of Don Whitley

We are very proud to announce that The Society for Applied Microbiology (SfAM) have launched a travel grant in the name of our founder, Dr Don Whitley. This grant, of up to £100, is to support SfAM Early Career Scientist members to attend SfAM events.

Don, who passed away on 28th February 2019, was a long-time member of SfAM. Over the past four decades Don Whitley Scientific Limited has continued to grow and is now a leading international manufacturer and supplier of innovative equipment and services to the microbiology and tissue culture industries. SfAM state in their promotional material for this grant that "Don was revered for his passion for applied microbiology, personal generosity and inspired leadership. His presence is greatly missed."

Who can apply?

To be eligible for this grant you must be an SfAM Early Career Scientist member and have registered to attend the event.

How much is the grant?

Maximum award of up to £100 (but you do not need to apply for the maximum amount)

What's the deadline?

Deadline of 4 weeks prior to the meeting you would like to attend.
